Australia’s Jake Fraser-McGurk made his way to the Indian Premier League (IPL) history books after scoring a 20-ball 50 in the match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday.
Fraser-McGurk breathed fire with his bat and took Rajasthan bowlers to the cleaners. The Aussie scored 50 runs on just 20 balls courtesy of seven fours and three sixes, giving his side a dream start in an important match.
He scored 28 runs in an over against Avesh Khan with six boundaries and became just the first player to score three half-centuries in 20 balls or less in the history of IPL.
Despite a slow start to his IPL 2024 campaign where he scored a fifty on 31 balls, the 22-year-old made a remarkable comeback and scored his remaining half-centuries on 15, 15 and 19 balls respectively.
He has now amassed 309 runs in just seven innings at an impressive strike rate of 235.87, which is fourth best in the tournament.

Despite his impressive performances in the IPL, the right-hander wasn’t named in Australia’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad which was announced earlier this month.
However, he had no regrets about not making it to Australia’s World Cup as the youngster believed that he wasn't even in a position to think he had earned a place in the 15-man squad.
