Virat Kohli’s stellar performance against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the 2022 T20 World Cup has been voted as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Greatest Moment.
Kohli had scored 82* off 53 balls and led India to victory while chasing a target of 160 runs.
This fiery innings has become the best moment in the history of the competition with 39% votes of the cricket fans.
Just an edition prior, India had received a thrashing at the hands of the Pakistani team who defeated them by 10 wickets and recorded the first-ever win in any World Cup game (ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup.
India and Kohli will meet Pakistan again on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Meanwhile, Kohli did not get a chance to bat against Bangladesh in the warm-up game ahead of the T20 World Cup and he also missed the only training session before the warm-up game having not arrived in the USA on time.
Still, Kohli is in good form with an amazing Indian Premier League (IPL) stint after having crossed the 8,000 run mark in the league and scoring 741 runs in 15 matches with one century and five fifties while representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
India are grouped with Ireland, Pakistan, USA and Canada in the Group A of the tournament. India will begin their T20 World Cup journey against Ireland on June 5 in New York.
