The 13th edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will take place from August 14 to September 21, 2025, as confirmed by Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the CPL on Friday.

In a statement, the CPL reassured fans that there will be no clash with West Indies international fixtures, ensuring the tournament’s uninterrupted schedule.

Pete Russell, the CEO of CPL, expressed excitement about the upcoming season.

"We are pleased to have once again worked with Cricket West Indies to find a window that allows the very best players from across the region to take part in the CPL," Russell said.

"The 2024 season was our most successful to date, and we are looking forward to building on that success in 2025," he added.

The format of the tournament will remain the same as in previous editions, with 30 league-stage matches featuring six teams.

This will be followed by four thrilling playoff games: the eliminator, two qualifiers, and the grand final.

St Lucia Kings, the defending champions, will face off against the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Barbados Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.

The Falcons will replace the Jamaica Tallawahs, who were dropped before the 2024 season.

Lynford Inverary, Acting CEO and COO of CWI, highlighted the importance of the CPL within the Caribbean’s cricketing landscape.

"While CWI continues to take a leading role in shaping our overall cricket calendar, the CPL remains a key part of our cricketing ecosystem, playing an important role in the development and promotion of the game throughout the Caribbean."

Details regarding venues, fixtures, and team rosters will be released later, with a draft and a round of pre-draft signings expected as teams begin to finalize their squads for the season.

It is pertinent to mention that the inaugural edition of the CPL took place in 2013, with Jamaica Tallawahs emerging as the champions after defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final.

The 2024 edition was won by St Lucia Kings, who triumphed over Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Trinbago Knight Riders have won the most titles, securing four championships, while Guyana Amazon Warriors have reached the final seven times, winning the tournament once.
