Manchester City faced a setback in their title race after a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The draw put the defending champions at fourth position, and they can go six points behind league leaders Liverpool should Jurgen Klopp’s men beat the struggling Manchester United side at Anfield on Sunday.

Jack Grealish opened the scoring for his side with a calm finish in the 27th minute. Their lead was doubled by Rico Lewis’ half-volley strike in the 54th minute.

However, the visitors pulled one back with Jean-Philippe Mateta finding the back of the net in the 76th minute. Even though Man City continued dominating the match after conceding the goal, they suffered a major blow when Phil Foden gave away a penalty during injury time.

Michael Olise had no trouble converting from the spot as the game ended 2-2, with both teams sharing a point.

Grealish continued his fantastic as he found the back of the goal for the third consecutive game, the first time in his career. Before today, he scored against Tottenham Hotspur and Luton Town.

It is worth mentioning that Pep Guardiola’s tricky blues only have one win in the last six PL matches, which came against Luton last week.

Man City’s record in the Premier League since November 12:

Chelsea 4-4 Manchester City

Manchester City 1-1 Liverpool

Manchester City 3-3 Tottenham

Aston Villa 1-0 Manchester City

Luton Town 1-2 Manchester City

Manchester City 2-2 Crystal Palace

Their next task is Everton at Goodison Park on December 28, which will be their second last match of 2023, surely Guardiola’s troops would be willing to end the historic year, where they won the club’s first-ever treble, on a high note.
