Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann seem to have reignited their relationship, sharing photos of hugging each other to mark the New Year.
Lehmann posted a shot on Instagram on New Year's Day, capturing the pair gazing into each other's eyes and smiling while surrounded by white balloons in a tunnel.
Following this, Luiz shared his own snapshot on Tuesday afternoon, displaying them cuddling on his Instagram story, accompanied by a rather suggestive love heart emoji.
Their romance appears to have been rekindled following reports of their split in November 2022, triggered by Lehmann's flashy calendar shoot for the upcoming year, which caused issues in their relationship.
As per English media, Luiz was reportedly unhappy with her decision to participate in the shoot, leading to heated arguments between them after a year of being together, as per The Sun.
However, it seems they've resolved their differences, even though Lehmann has a similar calendar released this year. Alongside a picture featuring just the two of them, Lehmann, aged 24, also shared a group photo of family and friends, where Luiz is seen with his arm around her waist.
Despite personal matters, Luiz had reason to celebrate after scoring an 89th-minute penalty against Burnley, aiding Unai Emery's team to a 3-2 victory, keeping them strongly positioned in the race for the Premier League title.
The midfielder has stood out as one of Villa's top players this season, tallying seven goals and five assists, propelling them to second place in the Premier League and securing a spot in the last 16 of the Europa Conference League.
