Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti gave a challenge to his players before the match against Las Palmas in La Liga, which the Whites won 2-1.

Before Las Palmas match, Ancelotti asked his players to win the next four games against Las Palmas, Getafe, Atletico Madrid and Girona.

Girona are at the top of table in La Liga, one point ahead of Madrid but the Los Blancos have a game in hand. Meanwhile, Atletico are in third place with 44 points but are 10 behind Madrid.

If Madrid also win their next three games, they will be in a good position to win La Liga.

Earlier, according to reports in Spanish media, Real Madrid’s star midfield Luka Modric is unhappy over being benched by the club this season.

The Croatian has got limited playing time this season since manager Carlo Ancelotti is looking to base his team around the younger midfielders as part of the transition process.

The report added that Modric is also not interested in playing in Saudi Arabia or Major League Soccer.

“Luka Modric does not want to go to play in Saudi Arabia or MLS. He thinks he still have two years at elite level at Real Madrid,” Spanish radio Cadena SER said on Wednesday.

“It hurts him a lot to be on the bench but he knew he would have played less this season.

“Modric will stay if the club offers him the renewal, he doesn't want Saudi Arabia. Real Madrid, however, have doubts about him.”

Meanwhile, right-back Dani Carvajal is set to be offered a contract extension by Real Madrid, journalist Jose Felix Diaz has affirmed via MARCA.

Madrid will reward Carvajal, who is a key member of the team, with a one-year extension since his contract is expiring in 2025.

Aged 32, Carvajal has regularly been Ancelotti’s first-choice right-back. Despite injuries, he has featured in 16 matches in La Liga this season, clocking more than 1300 minutes.

Carvajal has spent almost his entire career at Real Madrid, except for a solitary season at Bayer Leverkusen.

Even though he will turn 34 in 2026, Real Madrid trust the defender to come good for the side.

Carvajal is also considered a valuable player by the Carlo Ancelotti-led coaching staff and is one of the first names in the starting XI.
