Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, who was representing Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024, was presented with a signed jersey by MS Dhoni as he bid farewell to the competition.
Rahman's stint in the lucrative league was cut short due to his national team commitments. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had previously announced that the pacer would be unavailable for CSK after May 1, 2024, as he was set to participate in the home five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.
Mustafizur took to his social media to share a heartwarming photograph with Dhoni, holding the signed jersey.
He expressed his gratitude to Dhoni for the opportunity to share the dressing room and for the valuable lessons learned. He also expressed his hope to reunite with Dhoni and play alongside him again.
"Thanks for everything Mahi bhai. It was a special feeling to share the same dressing room with a legend like you. Thanks for keeping faith in me everytime. Appreciating your valuable tips, I will remember those things. Looking forward to meeting and playing with you again soon," he wrote.

Remember, BCB asked Mustafizur to return but the deadline was extended due to CSK's match against Punjab Kings at the M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on May 1. BCB extended the deadline after receiving a request from the Chennai team and the BCCI.
"We had given Mustafizur a leave to play in the IPL till April 30, but since Chennai has a match on May 1, we have extended his leave by a day upon receiving a request from Chennai and the BCCI," Shahriar Nafees, BCB's deputy manager of cricket operations, said according to ESPNCricinfo.
Mustafizur enjoyed a brilliant stint in IPL 2024 as he contended for the Purple Cap. He secured the third position in the tally of highest wicket-takers in the tournament. Across nine matches, he claimed 14 wickets with an economy rate of 9.26.
CSK, who suffered a defeat in their recent match against Punjab Kings by 7 wickets, are also facing injury woes following Deepak Chahar's injury.
