Cristiano Ronaldo may be approaching the twilight of his career, but he continues to set new scoring records.

The Al Nassr star netted two goals against Al Ittihad on Monday, bringing his season tally to 34 and 35.

Ronaldo’s second goal, a towering header from a corner kick in the 69th minute, broke the all-time Saudi Pro League record for goals in a single season.

The record was previously held by Abderrazak Hamdallah, who scored 34 goals in the 2018-19 season for Al Nassr as well.

He reached the milestone in just 31 league games, also tallying 11 assists for Al Nassr in a standout campaign.

Ronaldo set the record in Al Nassr’s final league match of the season, with the club guaranteed to finish second behind Al Hilal.

Al Nassr will have a chance for some revenge on Friday when they face Al Hilal in the King Cup final.

Remember, Ronaldo joined the Saudi club in January 2023, after signing a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is in high spirits as he is just 7 goals away from reaching a total of 900, poised to cement his name in football history as one of the greatest players. His current tally stands at 893.

He also tops the list of the best international football players, surpassing Pele, Lionel Messi, and many others, with 128 goals to his name.
