As the teams for the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 are decided, the 12 teams for the next edition in 2026 have also been confirmed.
The T20 World Cup 2026 will also feature 20 teams, divided into four groups of five sides each. India and Sri Lanka have qualified as hosts while the remaining seven teams are the ones who will play the Super 8.
These teams are Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the USA and the West Indies.
The remaining three teams have qualified via the current ICC T20I rankings. These teams are Ireland, New Zealand and Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the other eight teams will be confirmed via regional qualifiers.
It must be noted that the first match of the Super 8 will now be played between South Africa and the USA in Antigua and Barbuda on June 19. Meanwhile, the West Indies will play Scotland in St Lucia.
India and Afghanistan will play each other in their first match of Super 8 in Barbados while Australia will play the second team qualifying from Group D (Bangladesh or the Netherlands) in Antigua.
