Pakistani skipper Babar Azam was booed by the Indian crowd as the 28-year-old came to speak during the toss at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on Saturday.

Ahmedabad stadium, capable of accommodating 132,000 spectators at a time, is filled with Blue colours and the home side’s supporters are doing everything to discourage their opponents.

However, fans in the stadium booing Azam wasn’t appreciated by Pakistani fans on social media, but the other set of fans thought that it was normal to get booed in an away stadium.

Here is how fans reacted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan and India are facing each other in the 12th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 with both teams in great form. The Green Shirts headed to Ahmedabad on a high note after recording the biggest chase in the history of the mega event against Sri Lanka while the Blues hammered Afghanistan by chasing the target of 272 in just 35 overs.

By the time this story was filed, Pakistan were batting 84-2 in 16 overs.

It must be noted that the arch-rivals have crossed paths seven times in the ICC World Cup and the Green Shirts' record isn't something they would like to talk about as they have lost seven out of seven matches against the Blues.

However, after recording wins against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in the ongoing World Cup, Babar Azam and his men will be doing everything to end their losing streak against the arch-rivals in the mega event.
