Liverpool and Aston Villa currently are the top two teams on the table with 42 points each. However, Liverpool are ahead of Villa due to a better goal difference.
Defending champions Manchester City and Arsenal are in third and fourth place, respectively, on the table with 40 points but the former have a game in hand.
