The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the final lineup of outstanding performers shortlisted across three categories for the ICC Awards 2023 on January 5.
The categories consist of the ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year, the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year, and the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year.
With the unveiling of the last set of categories by the global cricket body, cricket enthusiasts around the world can now vote for their preferred cricketers from the 2023 season across nine ICC Awards categories.
ICC Cricketer of the Year 2023
Competing for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, both Australia and India have two candidates each, reflecting their clashes in the ICC World Test Championship Final and the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Final.
Australia's captain Pat Cummins has been nominated for the top men's category after an exceptional year, showcasing remarkable leadership and claiming 59 wickets in Tests and ODIs.
Travis Head, a key player in Australia's victories in the WTC Final and ODI World Cup, significantly contributed with bat and ball, accumulating almost 1700 runs and taking crucial wickets.
Virat Kohli is in contention for his third Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy. He achieved remarkable milestones in 2023, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar with his 50th ODI century and earning the Player of the Tournament award in CWC23.
Ravindra Jadeja, known for his all-around skills, completes the lineup with 66 wickets and 613 runs, playing a pivotal role in India's success.
Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy Shortlists
The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year shortlist includes Nat Sciver-Brunt, the 2022 winner, who continued her dominance with nine wickets and 894 runs in 2023. Chamari Athapaththu, nominated in three categories, showcased brilliance as Sri Lanka's skipper, scoring 885 runs in ODIs and T20Is.
Ashleigh Gardner, leading in women's international wickets, earned recognition for her all-round brilliance, while Beth Mooney stands out for her prolific run-scoring, including a crucial innings in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Final.
ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year Shortlists
The contenders for the ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year include Usman Khawaja, the leading run-scorer in the longest format with 1210 runs, and Travis Head, who played a pivotal role in the WTC Final win over India. R Ashwin, the top-ranked Test bowler, and Joe Root, a key player in England's Test resurgence, are also nominated.

How to vote for your favourite players?
The fan voting results will be combined with selections made by the ICC Voting Academy to determine the winners in each category.
In addition to individual awards, the ICC Awards 2023 will include categories such as ICC Men's and Women's Associate Cricketers of the Year, ICC Spirit of Cricket Award, ICC Umpire of the Year, and five ICC Teams of the Year. The winners will be announced later in January 2024.
