England have announced that they will face Bosnia & Herzegovina and Iceland in a pair of friendlies as part of their final preparations for Euro 2024.
The Three Lions will host two matches in June before heading to Germany for the tournament finals, and they have confirmed their opponents.
The first match will be against Bosnia & Herzegovina at St James' Park on Monday, June 3, marking the first-ever meeting between the two nations. This will also be England's first match at the home of Newcastle United since March 2005.
Gareth Southgate's team will then return to Wembley on Friday, June 7 to host Iceland in their last friendly before Euro 2024.
Speaking to England Football's website, Southgate expressed his delight at the Three Lions returning to play football in Newcastle.
"We’re really looking forward to taking the team back to the North East and to a city that is synonymous with football in this country," he said.
"We will follow that with another special occasion at Wembley allowing our fans the opportunity to give us a final send off before we head to Germany for another exciting summer. Both opponents in June are sure to provide stiff competition and play an important part in our preparation for the tournament."
Both Bosnia & Herzegovina and Iceland aspire to participate in this summer's finals alongside England, but they will have to secure their spots through the playoffs in March.
England is set to commence their Euro 2024 campaign against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday, June 16th. Subsequently, they will encounter Denmark in Frankfurt on Thursday June 20th, and conclude the group stage in Cologne against Slovenia on Tuesday, June 25th.
The Three Lions will resume their action in March with two friendlies at Wembley against Brazil and Belgium.
