Former England captain Michael Vaughan on Wednesday shared his prediction regarding the semi-finalists of this year’s T20 World Cup in the United States and West Indies.
Vaughan, in a post on X, predicted that England, Australia, South Africa and the West Indies will qualify for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
Vaughan played 82 Tests and 86 ODI matches for England over the course of his career between 1999 and 2008. While he scored 5719 runs in Test cricket at an average of more than 40, the right-hander also accumulated 1982 runs in ODIs at an average of 27.15.
The T20 World Cup will take place at a total of three venues in the USA and six in the West Indies between June 1 and 29.
The tournament will begin with USA facing neighbours Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
The blockbuster clash between India and Pakistan will be held at the new Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island on June 9.
It is worth mentioning that 20 qualifying teams are divided into four groups of five, from which the top two teams of every group will make their way to the Super 8 round. In that stage, qualifying teams will once again be divided into two groups of four, from which the top two teams will make their way to the semi-final and then the winners will play the final on June 29.
England are the defending champions after beating Pakistan in the final in 2022.
