Manchester United got a massive boost ahead of their next Premier League (PL) match against Everton on November 26 as left-back Luke Shaw has returned to training after three months of absence.

Shaw, 28, is one of the most important players for manager Erik ten Hag as the left-back contributed greatly during the last season when Man United finished third in the league and won the Carabao Cup.

"Manchester United have received a major boost ahead of the return to Premier League action, with Luke Shaw back in training," the club stated in a brief press release.

"Our cameras at Carrington have captured images of the left-back working with the main group, in advance of Sunday's game at Everton (16:30 GMT kick-off).

"The England international suffered what was described as a "muscle issue" in August."

Shaw has been sidelined with an injury since August 19 he picked up during a 2-0 loss against Tottenham Hotspur. The English international ended up missing crucial matches including four UEFA Champions League (UCL).

Ten Hag has used multiple players at Shaw's position but surely no one has been able to fill his shoes. Victor Lindelof, Diogo Dalot and loanee Sergio Reguilon are some of the players who have tried to do their job on the left flank.

It must be noted that Ten Hag will not be on the sidelines against Everton to guide his team as he has been banned for one game after receiving a yellow card in the last match against Luton Town FC.

The 20-time Premier League champions are already without two key players — Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez — out with long-term problems and the return of Shaw is huge news for the fans as well as the players and management.

It is worth mentioning that United are having a woeful season as they are on the verge of being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League with just one win in four games. If they finish last on the group stage, they would be out of the competition but should they finish third, they would be downgraded to the UEFA Europa League.
