Former UFC and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Brock Lesnar hasn’t wrestled since losing to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023 in August but The Beast’s comeback could be on the horizon as speculations about his return have been increasing with every passing day.
2024 is about to start, and the possibility of Lesnar appearing in future WWE programs has gotten strong. Lesnar has already received an epic challenge from the current Intercontinental Champion Gunther, who expressed his desire to take on the 46-year-old.
Speaking on the Busted Open Radio to discuss potential opponents for the grand event, Gunther wasn’t shy to admit he would love to face Brock Lesnar.
“I don’t know if WrestleMania 40 is the time for that but we’ll see, but I feel like in the long run the one name I always bring up is Brock because I feel like I’m the end boss to a lot of people. But I feel like Brock is somebody perfected being an end boss and I got to prove myself with him in the ring too,” he said.
On the other hand, in an interview with Daniel Cormier earlier, Lesner discussed a potential encounter with Gunther at WrestleMania 39.
“I do, I don’t really care… it was just proposed, and I don’t know if I don’t make the calls around here. It’s just one of those things. When this was proposed to me, I liked it because I like the challenge, and I like the matchup.”
However, that couldn’t happen as Lesnar faced Omos in a singles match. Meanwhile, Gunther defended his Intercontinental Championship in a triple-threat match against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre.
