Update on The Rock vs Roman Reigns match at WWE Elimination Chamber

|

Elimination Chamber set to occur in Perth, Australia, is going to be a significant stadium event

The Rock returned on January 8 episode of Raw - WWE

Since The Rock made his surprise return to WWE on the New Year's Day edition of "WWE Raw," speculation about him competing against Roman Reigns has been widespread.

However, according to Dave Meltzer on the latest "Wrestling Observer Radio," that match will not take place at WWE Elimination Chamber 2024.

The show, set to occur in Perth, Australia, is going to be a significant stadium event, leading some fans to wonder if the "People's Champion" would attempt to sit at the head of the table and face the "Tribal Chief" in the land down under.

However, Reigns is not currently scheduled to be on the show in any capacity. Still, that doesn't rule out the possibility of them competing against each other, with Meltzer speculating that the match might happen at WWE WrestleMania 40—although he cannot confirm it.

Reigns not participating in the Elimination Chamber might come as a surprise to some, considering it is a major international show, and he holds the title of Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

However, this is not the only Pay-Per-View event he is expected to miss, as Meltzer has confirmed that Reigns will not be part of WWE Backlash in Paris, France, either. This event is scheduled for May 4.

Reigns' next planned match is at the WWE Royal Rumble, where he will defend his title in a fatal four-way match against Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles. Following that, he is scheduled to face an opponent at WrestleMania, with Meltzer speculating that his subsequent matches could potentially take place in Saudi Arabia and at WWE SummerSlam.

On the other hand, there has been no update on plans for either Rock or Reigns at WrestleMania.

While Roman Reigns is not scheduled for the event, it has now been announced that CM Punk will be in attendance for Elimination Chamber.

At the Royal Rumble, Reigns will defend the Undisputed Championship against AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton. The match came together when The Bloodline interfered in the number one contenders match, leaving all 3 challengers lying as a result. According to ITR Wrestling, the 4-Way match was not the original plan for Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble.
