The T20 World Cup 2024 will begin on June 2 with the United States of America (USA) taking on Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas, but the match is likely to get affected by rain.

The World Cup is less than 48 hours away and the weather conditions in Texas are not getting better. There were four warmup matches scheduled in Dallas, and three of them were called off without a single ball bowled.

Not just rain, but tornadoes are also hitting Dallas as just a few days ago, the temporary giant big screen — set up at the venue for replays and match-related graphics — was knocked down due to extreme winds.

The match between US and Canada is scheduled for 7:30pm local time on Sunday and the rain threat remains as per AccuWeather, there are 21% to 24% chances of rain but that is not it.

The probability of a thunderstorm is 39% and since the weather condition has not been optimal, a light rain shower may be enough in the abandonment of the match as it has been raining non-stop in Dallas for quite some time.

Moreover, the risk of a flood in Dallas till Saturday also looms as per a warning issued by the US National Weather Service.

A total of 55 games will be played across nine different venues in the West Indies and the United States during the World Cup.

The venues in West Indies are Kensington Oval, Barbados; Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad; Providence Stadium, Guyana; Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua; Darren Sammy Cricket Ground, St Lucia; Arnos Vale Stadium, St Vincent.

Meanwhile, three venues will hold the matches in the United States — Eisenhower Park, New York; Lauderhill, Florida; and Grand Prairie, Texas.
