The captain of the Pakistan women's cricket team, Nida Dar, is ready to take on the Bangladesh women's cricket team in their own backyard from Wednesday as the two sides are ready to compete in three ODIs and three T20Is.
Pakistan, currently ranked number eight in ICC Women's T20I rankings, will play the three-match T20I series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram and would be willing to improve their T20I rankings by winning the series.
Talking ahead of the first T20I on Wednesday, Nida opened up on her side's preparation and her role as the captain.
“Our goal is to play positive and fearless cricket. We successfully adopted this approach in the series against South Africa at home, which helped us win the T20I series. Now, we intend to employ the same strategy," Nida said in a video posted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“It is unfortunate that we couldn’t play the T20 match [against BCB XI] on Monday due to rain, but we have adapted well to the conditions in our practice sessions we had here. I am confident the players will play to their strengths and I hope for a positive result in the series.
“We respect the Bangladesh women's team, and we know they are a competitive side in their backyard. They recently beat us in the Asian Games, so we recognise the presence of some great players in their side. Our approach in the series will be simple, we will take one game at a time.”
