Former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has been living rent-free in ex-England captain Michael Vaughan's head as the latter has been consistently posting about the former on his X, formerly known as Twitter, account.

It all started on November 3 when Vaughan posted on his X account just a day before Pakistan took on New Zealand in a must-win ICC World Cup 2023 encounter in Bengaluru saying that he is "worried" about them.

"I worry about Pakistan tomorrow .. it’s been too calm this last couple of days .. they need someone to resign today or leak a what’s app message .. #CWC23 #Pakistan," he wrote on X.

The incident was not tolerated by Hafeez and he decided to hit back at the former England captain at the right time when David Willey announced his retirement from international cricket citing not getting the central contract as a major issue.

"Better stop peeping into other’s problem and sort out ur disputes first. We have sizeable insight about our issues and will surely resolve them. @MichaelVaughan," Hafeez replied.

The two remained quiet for a while but Vaughan criticised Hafeez again when the former Pakistani captain called India's Virat Kohli selfish after his record 49th ODI century against South Africa in the ICC World Cup 2023.

"Come on @MHafeez22!!! India have hammered 8 teams playing great cricket .. @imVkohli now has 49 tons and his last was an anchor role innings on a tricky pitch .. His team won by over 200 !!!! This is utter nonsense .. #CWC2023 #India #Pakistan," Vaughan posted on X quoting the video where Hafeez was questioning Virat's intent.

Even though Hafeez hasn't mentioned Vaughan anywhere, he keeps on quoting him and is keeping the war of words alive.

On Thursday, Vaughan posted a video on his X account where Kohli bowled Hafeez out in the 2012 T20 World Cup and tried to take a dig at him.

"Morning @MHafeez22 .. Have a great day #India #Pakistan," he wrote.

Hafeez didn't respond to any of his tweets, but Vaughan went so far in this "war of words" that he ended up quoting a fake account that was pretending to be the former Pakistani batter.

Despite getting no response, Vaughan keeps on talking about Hafeez and at this point, it seems that the former right-handed batter is living rent-free in his head.

He also ended up posting old news of a ban on Hafeez's bowling due to some irregularity in his action, which was uplifted after some time.
