Sindh Premier League (SPL)’s inaugural edition is set to commence on December 14 in Karachi, confirmed the tournament’s organisation in a press release on Wednesday.
The highly-anticipated event will consist of six teams, Benazirabad Lals, Hyderabad Bahadurs, Karachi Gladiators, Khairpur Royals, Larkana Challengers and Sukkur Patriots.
The chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be present at the opening ceremony where he is expected to address the audience as well.
“The highly anticipated Sindh Premier League (SPL) is set to commence on Dec 14th, 2023 promising a thrilling showcase of cricket talent. The event will be honoured by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest, the honorable Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, marking a momentous occasion for the league,” SPL stated in a press release.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, whose unwavering support has been instrumental in bringing this premier cricket extravaganza to fruition. His commitment and dedication have played a pivotal role in making SPL a reality.”
The closing ceremony of SPL will be graced by the interim Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar.

Many top cricketers from the nation will participate in the highly-anticipated league. All-rounder Shadab Khan will represent Benazirabad, Shoaib Malik Hyderabad, Imad Wasim Karachi, Shan Masood Khairpur, Shahnawaz Dahani Larkana and Sharjeel Khan will play as an icon player for Sukkur.
