Yorkshire’s captain Shan Masood hit century against Northamptonshire in match 28 of the County Championship Division Two.

In Yorkshire’s second innings, Masood scored 131 runs off 152 balls with 13 fours and four sixes, leading his team to their fifth draw of the tournament.

In the first innings of the match, Yorkshire scored 362 runs, with Masood contributing 60 runs to the total. Another notable performance from Yorkshire was Adam Lyth, who also struck a century, scoring 109 runs off 205 balls.

This is Shan Masood’s second century of the season. He scored his first one of the County Championship 2024 against Gloucestershire in match 6 of the tournament.

Yorkshire has played seven games this season and has lost two against Sussex and Middlesex. The rest have been drawn.

Remember, Masood was appointed captain of Yorkshire last year and scored 720 runs in the previous season. Yorkshire finished seventh on the points table with just three wins and two losses from their 14 matches. Eight were drawn and one was washed out.

Masood was also appointed the captain of Pakistan’s Test team at the end of last year after Babar Azam stepped down.

Yorkshire are now scheduled to play against Gloucestershire in match 32 of the County Championship Division Two starting from June 23.
