Pakistani pacer Ihsanullah is gearing up for the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) where he will represent Multan Sultans once again.
Ihsanullah, 21, was the second-highest wicket-taker in PSL 8 with 22 scalps to his name in 12 innings. After the end of the tournament, the right-arm pacer started to feel discomfort in his elbow which ultimately led to surgery.
However, the 21-year-old is now ready to take the PSL by storm once again as he has started bowling in the nets at full pace.
Talking to Geo News during a training session, Ihsanullah confirmed that he is not just bowling at full pace, but is also swinging the ball in different ways.
“The rehabilitation after the elbow surgery went great, I have been bowling for the past 15 days,” Ihsanullah said. “I’m feeling way better than before, I tried to swing the ball with full pace during the practice sessions, and I was able to do it accurately.
“Missing the World Cup due to surgery was painful, I was disturbed but I told myself that injuries are part of the game.
“I am trying my best to get rid of the fear and start bowling with the pace. I will try to pick up from where I left off.”
It is worth mentioning that Ihsanullah was named the player of the tournament in the PSL 8 due to his remarkable performance throughout the tournament.
He became the first emerging player to be named best among more experienced and established stars in the tournament.
Remember, PSL 9 will start on February 17 in Lahore. The opening match will feature the two-time champions and current titleholders, Lahore Qalandars, facing off against Islamabad United, winners of the 2016 and 2018 editions.
