Manchester City forward Erling Haaland praised Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard claiming that the Norwegian would make the defending Premier League champion a better team.
Haaland and Odegaard represent Norway and the pair have featured together 27 times for their national side. The two will once again combine forces against Czechia on March 22.
Haaland lauded Odegaard, who is currently leading Arsenal in the Premier League as the Gunners are on top of the league.
"Yes, I think so. There's a good player, and a player that plays for our rivals. He's just signed a new contract, so that's not a topic, but at City, we have a lot of the best players in the world," Haaland said as quoted by The Mirror.
Earlier, Arsenal were handed a major blow as one of their key defenders Gabriel Magalhaes was ruled out of Brazil's squad due to an injury ahead of the crucial league match against Manchester City.
The Brazil Football Federation confirmed that Magalhaes was omitted from the first-team squad with an injury with Juventus’ Gleison Bremer replacing him.
Just one point clear of Pep Guardiola’s men, Arsenal will take on Man City as the table-toppers, similar to last season when the Gunners took on Man City being on top of the table but ended up losing the title after William Saliba was ruled out with injury.
The Gunners spent the major part of the previous campaign on top of the league but a bad spell of four to five matches in April 2023 ended their hopes of winning the league title after 19 years.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be determined to make sure that history does not repeat itself as the Gunners are in pursuit of their first league title since 2004, when they won the famous “Invincibles” won the Premier League without losing a single match all season.
