Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Spencer Johnson revealed that their designated finisher David Miller is likely to miss their next match against Rajasthan Royals after missing their last two encounters.
GT lost to Punjab Kings by three wickets and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 33 runs in their last two matches and currently sit seventh on the IPL points table.
Miller is one of the best finishers in the world as the Proteas batter has proven his prowess in the last and GT missed his presence down the order. Johnson confirmed in a press conference that his comeback is on the cards.
"Davy, I think he [Miller] is not too far away. Even if he misses this one, he will be available for the next one," Johnson said at the pre-match media conference.
Johnson also stated that instead of having a 2-3 win-loss record, GT could have easily won four matches if it were not for some close finishes.
"Couple of disappointing performances in the last couple of games but in last couple of years, we have shown how good a side we are," he added.
A win against Rajasthan, who have won four matches in the league so far, would give them the much-needed break as it will provide the required confidence ahead of their next home matches.
"When you come to Rajasthan Royals' home, it is not easy as Royals have won four on 4, we are looking to knock them off, how hard it is to win away games, but a couple of points here, goes a long way giving confidence going into our next two home games," Johnson said.
