Kalvin Phillips is likely to leave Manchester City as the Premier League club has opened talks with Juventus over a January loan move, according to talkSPORT.

Phillips has played only 89 minutes in the Premier League so far this season and is likely to leave the Etihad next month.

Premier League clubs Newcastle and Manchester United were both interested in signing Phillips but it seems that the former Leeds man could move abroad.

Phillips is believed to be open to the move but the buy clause could be the decisive factor in the deal between City and Juventus.

City are interested in bringing in a replacement midfielder in January with £60million-rated Fulham star Joao Palhinha one of the possible options.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also looking to sign the midfielder, who saw a move to the Bundesliga club collapse on transfer deadline day this summer.

If Palhinha moves to Bayern, it is possible that Joshua Kimmich could head to the Premier League.

Man City might rope in the Germany international, who has recently been on the lookout for an agent in a sign that he could be looking to move abroad.

However, it is quite likely that Phillips will likely leave, having failed to become a regular part of the City team after a £42m transfer from Leeds in 2022.
