KARACHI: Prominent names of Pakistan Cricket will be in action to play the first edition of the Sindh Premier League (SPL), starting from January 25.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi will represent Benazirabad while pacer Shahnawaz Dahani will play for Larkana Challengers. Hard-hitter batter Sharjeel Khan to do Sukker Patriots' jersey.

Wasim Akram is the president of Hyderabad Bahadurs while Misbah-ul-Haq is the head coach.

Meanwhile, Moin Khan is the head coach of Mirpurkhas Tigers while Shoaib Akhtar is the brand ambassador of the side.

National cricketers are enthusiastic about participating in the SPL. Shahnawaz Dahani, Sharjeel Khan, and Asad Shafiq have recorded their video messages which have been posted on SPL's social platforms.

The highly-anticipated event will consist of six teams, Benazirabad Lals, Hyderabad Bahadurs, Karachi Gladiators, Khairpur Royals, Larkana Challengers and Sukkur Patriots.

Remember, SPL was scheduled from December 14 to 25, however, it was postponed after clashing with the ongoing PCB's Presidents Trophy.

In a statement, the management of SPL announced the schedule again.

“After careful consideration and in the interest of enhancing the overall experience of the league, the organizing committee has decided to reschedule the SPL to new dates from 25th January to 5th February 2024.

“This extension allows us to diligently plan and execute an event that upholds the standards of excellence expected from the SPL. The decision was made after a comprehensive assessment aimed at ensuring a more conducive environment for the participation and enjoyment of all involved,” the statement concluded.
