Jordan Football Team have landed in Pakistan for the FIFA World Cup Qualifying round match on March 21 in Islamabad.
The Jordanian team arrived via Muscat to the capital city with Jordan's ambassador, Dr. Maen Khreasat, welcoming the team.
Other members of the embassy and PFF officials were also present on the occasion.
The Jordanian football team will play on Pakistan soil for the first since 2006.
The side was escorted from the airport to the hotel under tight security.
The match will be held at Islamabad's Jinnah Football Stadium from 2pm.
After the home clash on March 21, Pakistan will travel to Jordan for the away fixture on March 26 during the ongoing second round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers.
Pakistan are at the bottom of the points table in Group G after losing their first two matches against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan.
Meanwhile, it is expected that the month of Ramzan and a few other activities in and around the Sports Complex may not help to attract a huge number of spectators.
The day will start with a full dress rehearsal of the March 23 parade in the capital. The roads in and around the complex barring Kashmir Highway will remain closed till 2pm on March 21 -- the starting time of the match.
Spectators especially coming from Rawalpindi will have to use 9th Avenue or Kashmir (Srinagar) Highway to get access to Gate No 1 and Gate No 2 for entry into the Pakistan Sports Complex.
The two previous internationals held in the capital -- against Cambodia and Tajikistan drew huge crowd, making the football match look like a cricket international.
There is another activity within the complex premises in the evening on the same day as around the conclusion of the World Cup Qualifying match the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has convened its Congress meeting on the same day.
