Netherlands Cricket Board received a request from the PCB to delay the series

Pakistan last toured Netherlands for three ODIs in 2022 - PCB

Pakistan's planned T20I tour to the Netherlands, set for May next year, has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts, Cricbuzz reported.

The Netherlands Cricket Board (KNCB) received a request from the PCB to delay the series, aiming to ease the strain on an increasingly packed cricket calendar. Both boards are now exploring alternatives to rearrange the series.

Initially, Pakistan had expressed their desire to visit the Netherlands again after their CWC Super League series in Rotterdam in 2022.

A three-match T20I series was outlined for early May, preceding Pakistan's scheduled tour to Ireland and England. However, Pakistan's home series against New Zealand in April left a tight window for the Dutch leg of their European tour.

Consequently, the PCB aimed to reschedule the series to alleviate the scheduling constraints.

"We're obviously disappointed but of course we understand the situation, and remain optimistic a new window will be found to play the series either at home or away" KNCB High Performance Manager Roland Lefebrve told Cricbuzz.

Remember, Pakistan recently scheduled two five-match T20I series with New Zealand in 2024. The Men in Green will travel to New Zealand in January while Blackcaps return in April.

Pakistan will now play 16 T20Is leading up to the 2024 T20 World Cup after the cancellation of the Netherland's tour
