Jose Mourinho was sacked by the Italian club AS Roma on Tuesday after 2.5 years at the club and the rumours have started to flow as the Portuguese is once again, a free agent.
Roma parted ways with the Special One following their abysmal run in Serie A as the club is currently ninth in the league and crashed out of Coppa Italia earlier.
Perhaps a return to the Premier League is on the cards as Newcastle United are in search of a new manager to replace Eddie Howe. This could become a reality as Mourinho had earlier admitted having an “emotional” connection with the club when asked about joining them in 2021.
"On Newcastle, I don't have anything to say. Absolutely nothing to say," he said.
"The only thing I can say is that for many, many years, I worked with one of the most important figures in the history of Newcastle, Sir Bobby Robson, and so because of that I have always had a bit of an emotional connection with that city and that fanbase. But it's nothing more than that."
While a move to Newcastle looks more likely, a journey to the rising Saudi Pro League cannot be ruled out as not more than two months ago, the Special One left the doors open to managing a club in the Gulf Country.
"I will go to Saudi Arabia in some free time, but I am convinced that I will work there. I don't know when, but I am pretty sure of it," Mourinho had told Egypt TV channel MBC Masr.
"No one knows the future, but I will definitely do this (working in Saudi Arabia)," he said.
Mourinho joined Roma in 2021 and the club won the UEFA Conference League and played the UEL final, the club played two successive European finals for the first time in their history.
It would be interesting to see where Mourinho goes next, one thing for sure is wherever his next destination is, the Portuguese will be in the headlines due to his graceful personality.
