Manchester United’s discarded forward Jadon Sancho is close to leaving the club as his former team, Borussia Dortmund, has showed interest in signing the player on a loan deal, reported renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday.

The talks between the clubs are on an advanced level as both the player and the German Club want the deal to happen quickly.

There are some problems in the deal which are being discussed by the clubs. Man United agreed to a loan deal but they will have to pay part of Sancho’s salary while Dortmund will have to pay the loan fee.

With Sancho’s move to Dortmund, Man United will be able to ease their finances to an extent as the 23-year-old is one of the highest earners in the squad and with all the money that would be saved, the 20-time Premier League (PL) champions may sign a midfielder to strengthen their squad.

Sancho enjoyed great success at Dortmund where the forward played 137 matches, netting 50 goals and providing 64 assists which earlier him a move to the Manchester club for a record €100m fee.

After joining Man United in 2021, Sancho went on to play 82 games where he managed to bag 12 goals and six assists but he fell out of favour with head coach Erik Ten Hag and has been sidelined since then.

It all started on September 3 when the English footballer was left out of United's squad which faced a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

When asked the reason for Sancho's exclusion from the squad, Ten Hag explained that the decision was taken following the 23-year-old's poor performances during training sessions.

“Jadon, on his performances in training, we did not select him,” the Dutchman said. “You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected."

However, the Dutchman's comments were not ignored or taken lightly by Sancho who decided to speak up in order to defend himself.

"I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue," Sancho posted. "I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

"I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't get into, I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!

"All I want to do is to play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team."
