Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has decided to join Real Madrid in the summer transfer window after his contract with the French club ends, reported multiple reliable news outlets on Saturday.

Top French source Le Parisien and ESPN reported the news citing unnamed sources that the 25-year-old has agreed to join Madrid but he is yet to communicate his decision with PSG.

Mbappe’s current contract ends on June 30, 2024, and as per the agreement, he is now legally allowed to not just talk to his future club but also sign a pre-agreement to seal the deal.

While the reports came from reliable outlets, none of the three parties — PSG, Real Madrid and Mbappe’s entourage — have made any comment on them.

Madrid’s interest in Mbappe despite not being able to sign him for six years remains as president Florentino Perez wants to Frenchman to combine with Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham to form an attack that would rule the sport for years to come.

It must be noted that Madrid have been trying to sign Mbappe since his AS Monaco days in 2017-18 but the player decided to join PSG on a €180 million deal.

The deal was likely to happen last summer after the 25-year-old sent a letter to the French club saying that he would not extend his contract till 2025.

PSG reacted to Mbappe's letter aggressively and did their best to force him to leave the club.

In their extreme measures, PSG not only refused to select Mbappe for their pre-season tour to Asia but also made him train with the players who were no longer part of their project.

The footballer was also not called up for PSG's league opener against Lorient.

However, the 2018 World Cup winner was soon reintegrated into the squad after positive talks with the club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
