LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will announce the squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England on Thursday.
It must be noted that the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi had confirmed in a press talk on Tuesday that the team for the England and Ireland T20I series will be announced on Wednesday. However, due to an important event near the Gaddafi Stadium, it won’t be possible to make the announcement today.
According to sources, Haris Rauf, who has recovered from a shoulder injury, is likely to make a comeback in the squad. Top-order batter Usman Khan is also likely to get more chances in the coming games.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, who suffered a hamstring injury during the recently-concluded New Zealand T20I series, is also feeling better than before and could be part of the squad for England and Ireland series, sources added.
Meanwhile, the squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 will be announced after the conclusion of the first T20I against England, which will take place on May 22.
The initial deadline for squad submission for T20 World Cup was May 1 but the teams can make changes till 25th of the same month. After that, any changes will require approval from the event’s technical committee.
