Arsenal reportedly starts talks to consider signing Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, either in the current transfer window or the upcoming one.

As per TEAMtalk, Arsenal has showed interest in Amadou Onana and has begun discussions regarding a potential transfer.

Everton might let go of the midfielder for a significant sum, setting their sights on £70-90 million, with both Manchester United and Chelsea also eyeing the player.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have also been looking at the midfielder with particular interest. His performances at the Merseyside club have attracted the attention of multiple clubs

The Gunners have been scouting for a midfielder capable of playing the 6-8 hybrid role or potentially operating as a dedicated defensive midfielder. They have a list of prospects, including Joao Palhinha and Douglas Luiz.

While Arsenal remains keen on the latter, a move might be postponed until summer due to Aston Villa's unwillingness to sell. Recent reports suggest Arsenal's focus on a new central defender, but they seem interested in securing a holding midfielder.

Everton's Amadou Onana has surfaced as a recent target, admired by Mikel Arteta for his skills. Arsenal has initiated talks to explore the possibility of a transfer either in January or later in the summer.

The 22-year-old midfielder, having arrived just last season, has impressed under Sean Dyche. He might be open to joining a bigger club, although Everton might resist letting him go. With Everton in a strong position, Arsenal might have to delay their pursuit until the summer.

Are Everton considering selling Onana?

Everton finds themselves in a challenging financial situation, having already faced a ten-point deduction in the Premier League this season. They might need to offload some players to stabilise their finances.

Amadou Onana is a valuable asset in their squad, previously valued at £60 million. However, recent reports suggest a higher price tag of £70-90 million, catching the attention of Manchester United, who see Onana as a potential long-term midfield solution, according to Erik ten Hag.

While Arsenal seems to have an edge in securing the midfielder currently, the situation could swiftly shift if Manchester United presents a solid offer in January.
