Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed and former Test batter Asad Shafiq were engaged in a heated exchange during the ongoing Sindh Premier League (SPL) clash at National Bank Arena in Karachi.

Iftikhar, who is representing Karachi Ghazis, dismissed Larkana Challengers' Asad during the 161-run chase. After dismissal, Iftikhar directed his celebration towards Asad which the latter didn't like and came towards the spinner.

Iftikhar continued to show his aggression towards the batter as the umpires and his teammates separated both the players. The match was won by Karachi Ghazis by 68 runs.

It must be noted that the first edition of SPL started on January 25 with round matches. The tournament will run until February 5.

The first qualifier is scheduled for Friday, February 2nd, at 7:00 PM, followed by the first eliminator on Saturday, February 3rd, at 7:00 PM.

The event will follow with the second eliminator on Sunday, February 4th, at 7:00 PM, leading up to the grand finale on Monday, February 5th, at 7:00 PM, when one team will emerge victorious, claiming the prestigious title of the first SPL title.

Remember, during the T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand, Iftikhar Ahmed got angry at a fan for calling him “chachu” during the second game.

Iftikhar was fielding during the first innings when he had an unwanted experience with a fan.

The fan was heard saying, “We are your fans” to which Iftikhar replied, “Stay quiet”.
