Manchester Originals have retained spinner Usama Mir, while Welsh Fire have retained pacer Haris Rauf for this year’s The Hundred tournament.
Usama is currently playing for the Multan Sultans in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine.
Meanwhile, Haris was ruled out of the event after dislocating his shoulder during the match between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars. The right-armer will need four to six weeks to recover before being back in action.
The fourth year of The Hundred will begin on Tuesday, July 23 when defending men's champions Oval Invincibles host Birmingham Phoenix.
A day later, reigning women's champions Southern Brave will start their campaign when they welcome London Spirit.
Teams had until today to retain players from their 2023 squads.
“Women's teams may keep a maximum of eight players. Men's teams can keep up to 10 players, plus one Centrally Contracted England star. If teams do not retain a Central Contract player, there will be a draft to ensure all teams have one,” the tournament organisers confirmed.
“Teams do not have to use all of their retention slots, allowing them more picks in The Hundred Draft.
“For both competitions, players can agree a different salary band to the one they were on previously - either higher or lower.
“Teams will then have the chance to fill in the gaps in their squad. This will happen during The Hundred Draft.
“Every player who enters the Draft will have a reserve price. This is the lowest amount of money that they can be signed for. But they can receive more money if a team wants to offer it!
“Both competitions will have their own Draft. Teams will take turns to select players. Draft orders will be the reverse of the final standings from 2023.”
