West Indies announce squad for T20 World Cup 2024

West Indies are part of Group C. - ICC 

Co-host West Indies have announced their squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, starting from June 1 in the Caribbean and the USA.

Rovman Powell will lead the two-time champions, who start their campaign on 2 June against PNG in Guyana.

Pacer Alzarri Joseph is named as the vice-captain for the competition while young pacer sensation Shamar Joseph is also part of the 15-men squad.

Meanwhile, Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell and Jason Holder all make the squad.

West Indies are part of Group C alongside Afghanistan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Uganda. They will kick off their campaign on 2 June against PNG in Guyana.

All teams are allowed to make changes to their squad until 25 May, after which any alteration will require approval from ICC's Event Technical Committee.

It is worth mentioning that 20 qualifying teams are divided into four groups of five, from which the top two teams of every group will make their way to the Super 8 round. In that stage, qualifying teams will once again be divided into two groups of four, from which the top two teams will make their way to the semi-final and then the winners will play the final on June 29.

Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman

Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea
