Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) head coach Luis Enrique spoke up on the ongoing Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid saga after it was reported that the Frenchman has informed the club that he will leave in the summer.
Enrique, who became PSG’s boss in 2023, confirmed that he cannot give any information to the press and the matter is entirely between the club and the player.
“I have no information to give you,” Enrique said. “Until the two parties involved speak publicly, I will not say anything”. “When the parties speak, I will give you my opinion.”
Mbappe’s contract with the French club ends at the end of the season and the 25-year-old is set to part ways with the club after seven years.
Earlier, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reported Mbappe has informed PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his decision but the terms of the departure are yet to be fully agreed upon. Both parties will communicate together about the latter's exit in the upcoming months.
All three parties — Madrid, PSG, and Mbappe — are yet to speak on the matter publicly but as per the sources near to them, it is all but confirmed that Kylian Mbappe will play for Real Madrid next season.
Even though they have not been able to sign the 25-year-old for the last six years, the saga is likely to meet its conclusion and Madrid’s president Florentino Perez’s dream of forming an attack consisting of Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham may finally come true.
Remember, Madrid have been trying to sign Mbappe since his AS Monaco days in 2017-18 but the player decided to join PSG on a €180 million deal.
The deal was likely to happen last summer after the 25-year-old sent a letter to the French club saying that he would not extend his contract till 2025.
