India’s middle-order batter Rinku Singh has set his eyes on the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 after winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

KKR claimed their third IPL title after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a one-sided final by eight wickets.

Talking after the match, Rinku said that he will be lifting the T20 World Cup in the summer as he will not rest after just winning the IPL.

“I am headed to Noida first, and then, I will be going to the United States of America. You guys watch, I will also be lifting the World Cup,” Rinku told JioCinema after the IPL final on Sunday.

Rinku made his way into India’s T20I team after an impressive IPL 2023 where he amassed 474 runs but he didn’t get many chances to play this year and could only score 168 runs from 11 innings.

“My dream of seven years is complete. Finally, I will lift the trophy. I am proud of my whole team and GG sir. It was God’s plan,” Rinku said after winning his first IPL trophy.

The 26-year-old then emphasised that the trophy could become a possibility due to a complete team effort. He also lauded Gautam Gambhir for changing things within the team.

“You can’t credit just one person because everyone has worked hard. Since GG [Gautam Gambhir] sir came, a lot of things have changed. Sending Sunil early, he batted so well,” he said.

“The batters played well, and the bowling was great. Venky [Venkatesh Iyer] has been batting really well for the last five to six matches, so overall, everyone has done really well,” Rinku added
