Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has given an update on his injury situation after being substituted in the first half of England's international friendly with Brazil on Saturday night.
Walker was replaced in the 20th minute of the 1-0 defeat for the Three Lions, with the right-back appearing to suffer from a muscular issue.
England boss Gareth Southgate said after the contest that the issue would be assessed "in the coming days", and he is highly unlikely to feature in Tuesday's friendly with Belgium.
"We don't know yet. He is feeling something but he is not a player who is injured very often so he's not quite certain what it is. So it is something we have to assess in the coming days," Southgate told reporters following the clash with Brazil.
Walker has since taken to social media to address the situation, with the experienced defender hopeful that he did not suffer anything "too serious" in the international friendly.
"Frustrating to come off injured in last night's game especially when captaining the side," wrote Walker on Instagram. "A truly great honour. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and I'm back ASAP."
Manchester City will now be concerned about the fitness of the 33-year-old ahead of Sunday's Premier League match against fellow title contenders Arsenal.
Walker has once again been a crucial player for Pep Guardiola's team during the 2023-24 season, appearing in 38 matches across all competitions, including 26 appearances in the Premier League.
Manchester City are aiming for another treble this season, as they are currently in the semi-finals of the FA Cup against Chelsea, and they are set to face Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The reigning English champions are currently third in the Premier League standings, just one point behind leaders Arsenal ahead of their clash at the Emirates Stadium next Sunday.
Manchester City have not lost a league game since a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at the beginning of December, and they head into the international break following a 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
Arsenal also have concerns about their own fitness ahead of the title showdown, with Bukayo Saka withdrawing from the England squad last week due to a muscular issue.
