Manchester United coaching staff are reportedly worried about star attacker Marcus Rashford’s “self-destructive” lifestyle after the 26-year-old reported sick for training while being at a nightclub in Belfast.

Rashford went on to miss United’s 4-2 win in the FA Cup against Newport County on Sunday after missing the training sessions on Friday.

As per The Sun, Rashford collapsed into his bed at 3 am on Friday morning, after calling in sick for training after an all-day drinking session.

The report further added that a waitress, who was invited by Rashford, claimed that the 26-year-old drunkenness got to the point he dropped a bundle of cash in his five-star hotel room.

On the other hand, TalkSport claimed that the coaching staff at United are heavily concerned with Rashford’s ongoing form as he has only scored four goals in 26 matches across competitions this season.

It is further reported that people close to the forward believe that he is in a “complete self-destruct mode” with concerns that some of Rashford’s inner circle have a strong hold on him.

Man United released a statement on Monday after Rashford reported for training saying that the forward took full responsibility for his actions and the matter was closed for any further discussions.

"Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed,” United said in a brief statement.

It is worth noting that this was not the first incident involving Rashford and nightclubs.

In November, following a thumping 3-0 loss to Manchester City, the 26-year-old was pictured going out for which he was criticised by fans and Ten Hag confirmed having a conversation with him.
