Real Madrid-bound Endrick paid tribute to Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton after Brazil defeated England 1-0 at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Endrick, currently playing for Palmeiras, will move to the Spanish capital in summer but has already touched great heights as he netted his first-ever international stadium at an iconic stadium.

The 17-year-old scored the only goal and became the youngest player ever to score at Wembley Stadium. The Brazilian prodigy opened up after the match saying that he drew inspiration from Bobby Charlton at England’s national stadium.

“A guy who is an idol here is also Bobby Charlton,” said Endrick. “Playing in the stadium that Bobby played, scoring on the day Ronaldo debuted. These are very important memories for me.”

Legendary Brazilian striker and Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo Nazario, commonly known as R9, made his international debut against England exactly 30 years ago.

Meanwhile, Charlton, who is in the history books of Man United and England, was diagnosed with dementia in November 2020 and passed away on October 21, 2023.

Charlton played a total of 758 matches for the Red Devils, scoring 249 goals in the process between 1956 and 1973 and won the European Cup with Manchester in 1968 and bagged three First Division titles.

Other than that, he won the 1966 World Cup with England and played for the national team 106 times, scoring 49 times, a goalscoring record which he held from 1970 to 2015.

Remember, Endrick, who is just a teenager, already has four major titles in his trophy cabinet. The Brazilian has won two league titles alongside Paulista and Supercopa.

Endrick is set to embark on his journey in Europe with Real Madrid as he will travel to Santiago Bernabeu in June 2024, once he turns 18.

Madrid already signed Endrick for a €37.50m fee and are eager to integrate the Brazilian prodigy into their squad for next season.
