Ace Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi has labelled wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan as the 'Bradman of T20 cricket' after the latter reached the 3000-run mark during the second T20I of the series against New Zealand.
The 31-year-old became the fastest batter to score 3000 runs in T20Is, going past India's Virat Kohli and his teammate Babar Azam.
He reached the landmark in 79 innings while the other had made as many runs in 81 innings.
Shaheen congratulated Rizwan for his record-breaking display and be an inspiration for many.
"Cheers to Muhammad Rizwan - the Bradman of T20 cricket and Pakistan's SuperMan for hitting 3,000 T20I runs," Shaheen posted on X (formerly Twitter).
"Your impact has transformed the game and silenced the sceptics. Keep soaring, champion! You're an inspiration to many," he added.
Meanwhile, Shaheen hosted a celebratory party in honour of Rizwan for which the latter is thankful.
"Huge thanks to Shaheen Shah Afridi for orchestrating another fantastic celebration for me and for bringing the stars of the Pakistan team together," Rizwan posted.
"Grateful to all my teammates and our incredible fans for their unwavering support," he added by mentioning that his and Babar Azam's records are the same.
It must be noted that New Zealand made a stunning comeback in the five-match T20I series courtesy of Mark Chapman who led the visitors to victory by seven wickets in the third match at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
The series is now levelled at 1-1 with two matches remaining in Lahore. The matches are scheduled on April 25 and 27 at the Gaddafi Stadium.
